"Hey, Pete my name is Daniel, Im 248 pounds 30% fat what the best thing I can do to get lean should I down my calorie intake and eat right or train and up my calorie intake? I'm also 6'2. and also I'm good at running and I was wondering if it would be good to run 5 miles 6 times a week too. I was 280 pounds just trying to get lean."
"Pete, I know it's important to take L-Glutamine and BCAA's in my diet when i'm training hard but my protein powders say they already have that stuff in it. I bought some bottles of Glutamine and BCAA's so is it necessary to add more to my shake? I take them with food but I don't want to end up wasting it if I don't need it in my shakes. Also, what's your take on muscle soreness? I never workout the same body part two days in a row but sometimes my muscles are sore for a few days and I was wondering if it was safe, or even beneficial, to work them out while they're sore. And do you have any tips on how to alleviate soreness? Is there such thing as cheap quality protein? I live on a tight budget so I get a protein powder by EAS from Costco haha. Someone told me that it doesn't work as well and it's cheap for a reason. Is there a protein powder you recommend that's effective and cost friendly? Thanks. -Jack "

Lara: Peter - Your question and answer sessions are always so informative, and applicable to everyone...it's so important to address, as an athlete myself, the trichotomy of lifting, nutrition and cardio, cardio, cardio! A lot of people seem to neglect one or more aspects of this...and never see the same results as those who are dedicated to all 3! You look great, and as always, keep up the great work!12/04/2009
