"Hey Pete: First of all you look HUGE. How often do you work out your arms? Secondly, in terms of doing legs. My trainer told me to only do legs once a week since it requires more time to recover. However, another trainer told me that you can do legs several times per week. What are your thoughts? "
"Pete, I am 22, about 5'8 weighing at 245. Last year I weighed 275 and dropped to 235. I started doing some weight training and taking Power Maxx (www.advanced247.com) for protein. I went from a size 44 to 38 in pants. However, I am wondering how can I get rid of this belly fat and love handles? I do cardio five days a week for about 30 minutes. I take a multivit daily with two 3-6-9 fish oils. Any advice...workout, food...etc would be great. Thanks!"

Neil: Hi Pete, I took your advice and did legs only ONCE this week. They feel like spaghetti. I think I overdid it. I find that when I train my legs harder I can't run or swim as much during the week. I've always stretched and begin with a light warm up, but I guess I have to get used to lifting more. My next question is about supplements. Obviously you are in peak condition, but do you use any sports nutritional supplements like creatine, whey protein, etc.? If so, which brands and where do you get them? I've been to GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, etc. I initially used creatine in the past (capsules), but didn't see much of a difference. I noticed results with protein powders, but they made me feel really bloated and gassy. Please advise.08/08/2009
Vincenzo: Dear Pete, I am a 55 y.o. 5'11" @ 205 lbs male. I used to workout at the gym. It's been at least 1.5 yrs since I went to the gym. I would like to get into the swing of it again. My real concern is how do I go about starting off slow, and how much should or how many reps and sets should I do without endangering myself to the point of injury. To be quite honest, I'm not a very big fan of tred mills. Had 2 bad experiences, and prefer not. Although, when I was associate with Crunch fitness, my personal trainer, had do about only 10 mins on tred. I have no problem with that. Question, is it necessary to do cardio for 30 mins, or can it be reduced? I knw this much that it's primarily to get the heart rate up. But, there are other ways of get the heart rate up. I would appreciate your advise regarding how to start off again. Apologize for lengthy email. There's one other question. Is it possible, even for someone of my age factor to build muscle? Also, have you ever heard of anyone having a reaction to certain whey protein powder mixes? Appreciate your response, by my email provided. Thank you, Vinny08/01/2009
Peter: Neil, make sure you download the latest flash player at www.Adobe.com - that should do the trick. -Peter Adonis08/01/2009
Peter Adonis: Neil - are you sure? It plays fine on my end. I'll send it over to the tech guys.Add a Comment
