Okay, so here is the 'Get Well Soup' that I did the other day in order to boost my immune system.
Ingredients:
Fresh Herbs (Cilantro, Basil, Oregano, Cilantro)
4 cups of white tea
1 small can of reduced sodium chicken broth
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 lb of 99% fat free ground turkey breast
1 can of kidney beans
1 can of peas
1 small can of tomato paste
1 bag of small red potatoes
handful of spinach
10 to 15 garlic cloves
1 sweet onion
1 package of shiitake mushrooms
Dry Herbs - Mrs Dash No Sodium Seasonings
Directions:
Chop up fresh herbs. (cilantro, basil, oregano, cilantro). Chop up mushrooms. Chop up onion. Chop up red potatoes into quarters.
Saute turkey breast. Brew white tea.
Add the 4 cups of white tea to the soup pot. Add 1/4 cup of the reduced sodium chicken broth to the pot. Add a bit of water until the pot is 1/4 to 1/2 full of liquid.
Puree can of peas, and add to the soup pot. Add small can of tomato paste.
Add boneless skinless chicken breast and 99% fat free turkey breast. Add fresh herbs (basil, parsley, cilantro, oregano).
Puree spinach and a few cloves of garlic, and add to the soup. Add whole cloves of garlic to the soup. Add sweet onions to the soup.
Add quartered red potatoes. Add kidney beans. Add Shiitake mushrooms. Add dry herbs (Mrs. Dash No Sodium Seasonings)
Mix well
Cook on medium for 45 mins to 1 hr 30 mins. If you like 'al dente' (hard potatoes and vegetables) do it for 30 to 45 mins, if you like is 'mushy' (where you can cut the potatoes and veggie with a spoon), cook it for 1 hr +.

Garlic
Roman soldiers used to gobble down chunks of garlic before battle. They believed the pungent plant infused them with courage and heroic strength. While chomping on raw garlic cloves won’t give you superhuman powers, it may help your immune system defeat bacterial, viral and even fungal infections.
Garlic contains allicin, ajoene and thiosulfinates -- three powerful compounds that help the body prevent and fight infections. The compounds are so strong that consuming raw garlic juice is nearly as effective as Neosporin is for disinfecting minor wounds. When applied to the skin, garlic beats topical creams like Tinactin and other antifungal agents in fighting athlete’s foot. Evidence has been documented suggesting that people who consume large quantities of garlic on the onset of a cold will reduce the amount of time it takes them to heal.
How to eat it: Add some fresh garlic to your pasta sauce or your stir fry. Try to eat a few cloves a week, but keep it to a few -- you don’t want to smell like garlic bread. A good thing to remember is that garlic is more potent (and has a stronger flavor) the more you mash it.
Allicin is produced when garlic cells are crushed, so using a garlic presser is the easiest way to squeeze the compound out of the clove. Also, allicin, ajoene and thiosulfinates are very unstable in that they degrade with time, so keep in mind that jarred-up, pre-chopped garlic contains less of the chemicals than freshly-crushed garlic.
Garlic
Garlic is one of the best infection fighters available for both bacterial and viral infections. One of its many ingredients, allicin, is a natural antibiotic that does not appear to create resistant bacteria strains. In addition, fresh garlic extract has been shown to be virucidal to many viruses.
Garlic possesses the ability to stimulate the immune system. It can stimulate the activity of the macrophages (white blood cells), which engulf foreign organisms, such as: viruses, bacteria, and yeast. Furthermore, garlic increases the activity of the T-helper cells (immune cells which are central to the activity of the entire immune system). Garlic may be particularly effective in treating upper respiratory viral infections due to its immune-enhancing properties and its ability to clear mucous from the lungs.
The same component that gives garlic its strong odor is the one that destroys, or inhibits various bacteria and fungi. The component is allicin, and when crushed, combines with the enzyme allinase and results in antibacterial action equivalent to 1% penicillin.
Garlic is also effective against strep, staph, and even anthrax bacteria
Onion
Everything that's been said about Garlic can be said about onion. Onions and garlic share many of the same powerful sulfur bearing compounds that work so effectively as anti-viral and anti-bacterial agents

Reishi, Maitake, and Shiitake Mushrooms are all healthy mushrooms that have been proven to fight cancer and sickness
Yes, mushrooms are a fungus. We may put them in everything from spaghetti sauce to sushi, but an abundance of varieties have proven themselves to be more than just great tasting, they’re also great for your health.
Low in calories and high in zinc, protein, fibre, vitamins, and minerals, mushrooms have been proven to do great things for our bodies. Selenium found in mushrooms works to decrease the risk of the spread of cancer.
Recent studies have shown that mushrooms have probiotic properties—they help our bodies ward off sickness, increase resistance to disease, and help our bodies stay balanced. Most studies on mushrooms have been conducted in Asian countries such as China and Japan. Asian countries use mushrooms in natural remedies as well as medicinal recommendations.
Though there are over 38,000 different species of mushroom, three in particular have demonstrated healing properties. Reisihi, shiitake, and maitake mushrooms have been shown to boost the immune system. In some studies, these mushrooms have properties that have been linked to fighting cancer. Here’s what you need to know about them:
Reishi
Reishi mushrooms are good for those who have upper respiratory tract problems. These mushrooms have been shown to improve asthma symptoms. In Asia, reishi mushrooms have been used to treat liver problems, hypertension (high blood pressure), and arthritis.
Reishi can be taken in soups, syrups, teas, and even by injection. Talk to your doctor before starting a health regime that includes reishi mushrooms.
Shiitake
An amino-acid in shiitake mushrooms have been proven to help in the processing of cholesterol in the liver. As well, shiitake mushrooms appear to many researchers to be cancer fighters. Shiitake mushrooms help the body form antibodies that help fight disease and strengthen the body. Shiitake mushrooms contain about one third of the recommended daily intake of selenium.
Shiitake mushrooms are delicious and can be cooked. Shiitake mushrooms can be taken both in food and medicine form.
Maitake
Maitake mushrooms are best known for their cancer fighting properties. Studies have shown that maitake mushrooms are adept at blocking the spread of cancer, as well as boosting the immune system of those with cancer and without. In general, maitake mushrooms have been proven by researchers to lower blood cholesterol levels as well as help in stabilizing type 2 diabetes.____________________________________
White Tea
Tea is the beverage of choice for cold and flu sufferers. It eases symptoms and warms the body, providing much needed comfort. The power of tea reaches far beyond its ability to sooth and comfort, according to recent studies.
At Pace University it was discovered that white tea extract could kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi in the body, more so than the extract of other teas. The study focused primarily on the bacteria that cause Staphylococcus infections, Streptococcus infections, pneumonia and dental cases. The same study concluded that fluoride-rich white tea helps prevent the growth of dental plaque, the chief cause of tooth decay.
"Past studies have shown that green tea stimulates the immune system to fight disease," says Milton Schiffenbauer, Ph.D., a microbiologist and professor in the Department of Biology at Pace University's Dyson College of Arts & Sciences and primary author of the research. "Our research shows White Tea Extract can actually destroy in vitro the organisms that cause disease. Study after study with tea extract proves that it has many healing properties. This is not an old wives tale, it's a fact."
Another research study at Oregon State University in Corvallis found that consumption of white tea, which is made from immature tea leaves picked shortly before the buds have fully opened, might provide protection against colon cancer. The study suggests that white tea can be just as effective as use of the prescription drug Sulindac in preventing colon tumors in a certain type of laboratory mouse that is genetically predisposed to cancer.
As white tea is left so close to its' natural state, means that white tea contains more polyphenols, the powerful anti-oxidant that fights and kills cancer-causing cells, than any other type of tea. White tea also contains much less caffeine per cup than green, oolong, or black tea.
As research continues to show that teas exert significant protective effects, and aids the body's immune system against a myriad of diseases and bacteria, it is important to note that the polyphenols in white tea have also been show to lower cholesterol, reduce blood pressure and fight fatigue. For all the health benefits that white tea provides, it is a great addition to anyone's preventative health routine.
